We have to play in the pool outside every morning now that it's over 100 during the day. Otherwise we swelter, or pay too much for AC. :) There is only about 4 inches of water in this pool, so I can sit nearby without worrying too much.

4th of July

We had a really great 4th of July weekend. We drove the 1 1/2 hours up to Redding and stayed in a hotel. Peyton had a fever and an ear infection, so it was a little stressful, but still a nice weekend. We went to Turtle Bay, an ecological museum that has animals native to the area and studies the environment. (our friends Dallas and Jeannie Carlon gave us free passes). They had a big frog exhibit with all the different types of frogs from around the world, and a big fish room, and (our favorite) a butterfly "house". They just built the Sundial Bridge out there, which I thought was really neat. Then, we went to Sunday meeting at the Grow's in Ono (oh no!) they have a pretty house that looks like a barn from the outside. I saw an old friend there, Alisha Osborne (now Earnest) and her kids. On the 4th, we went to Whiskeytown Lake and swam a bit. The water was perfect, so refreshing yet not too warm. We got to see Dallas and Jeannies' new house in Redding, which is big and airy and beautiful. I was jealous. :)
We had a really fun weekend!

Hello everyone!

Good weekend to you all! It is gorgeous and cool here today. It's only 75 out. It's such a relief to have some cool weather. I got sick Friday morning with a fever that lasted through Sunday. I found out at the Doc on Sunday that I have tonsillitis, basically an infection of my tonsills and all the lymphs in my neck. It looks pretty nasty, but I think the meds that I'm on will knock it back now pretty quickly.

Our friends Sean and Kyra Ziniker from Chico are moving up to Paradise today. They bought a fixer just like we did, so it will be fun to see what they do to it!

Our old friend Derek Pearson is getting married today to his sweetie of lots of years, Sara. I think they're already considered common-law married, they've been together so long! ;) I hope the rain in WA let up for them to have a pretty day.

Not much more to report here, I hope you all are having a great weekend! Take care of yourselves.

My Bro

I thought I would add some photos of my brother Brad and his beautiful wife Arica, with their three kids, Ille, Mikaela and Aurora. My pictures are 6 months to a year old, so I'll try to update as soon as possible.

Ben and Breta Winfield

Ben, Breta, Weston and baby girl aka "kung fu mommy's ribs" visited just before Mountain Ranch convention in May. We had a good time together! We spent some time at the pool, getting a real tan (Breta!). Selina drug Weston around against his will.. he wasn't used to someone dictating his every move! How did Selina get like that? I've taught her (by example, of course) to be timid, submissive and compliant. Haven't I?

Mountain Ranch Convention, May 05

Here are a few pictures from Mountain Ranch convention a few weeks ago. We had such a great convention. Then again, when haven't we?! Mom and Grandpa came down for the convention, it was so nice to have help from mom. Even then we lost Selina for about a half hour. As you can imagine, I was only slightly panicked. I think I still have blisters from running around that convention in my foo-foo heels.

Selina's friend Nevaeh Cruz from Yuba City. They were inseperable at convention. Neveah is 4 years old. Her name is "Heaven" spelled backwards.

Chico Fair!

Lee, Brooke and Selina did the Chico fair a couple of weeks ago. Mom stayed home with Peyton, so it was Selina's night to have mommy and daddy all to herself! Saying she looooved it would be an understatement. She went on somewhere around 10 rides, rode a horse, ate cotton candy, carmeled apple, ice cream, and shaved ice. She got to see baby horses, pigs, cows, chickens, sheep and so many more animals. She still talks about all the fun she had. She doesn't understand why we can't do that every weekend!

Selina loved the car rides!

This is the last mosaic I did, before Selina was born. It was hard for me to let it go.. I had to sell it to a lizard-lover in Singapore. At least it's in a good home. *sniff*

This is what I feel like this morning! I love this painting, someday I will buy it and hang it in a sunroom.
