I heard from Vietnam today, my mom sent an email telling me that Grandpa Gene had a small stroke while he and mom were at a store yesterday. He's doing okay so far, but there is a big possibility of a larger stroke to come soon if he doesn't take it easy and get medical attention. So he and mom are travelling to Honoi (sp?) today to see Mike Thorstensein, then will be heading back home prematurely. I'm glad this happened while mom was visiting, because she can help him on the long flight back, and take care of him should anything happen.
In other, much smaller news, we may be getting an offer on our house today or tomorrow. I'll keep you updated!
That's all from this edge of the continent. Hope you are all doing really well!

Afternoon, ya'll...
how is everyone? I'll imagine that everyone's saying "fine" since that is always our response, no matter how we are really doing. Anyway, not much to report this afternoon.. these pictures of the kids are from the last couple of days. I know.. not an exciting post for everyone, but it is tremendously exciting for the grandma's! Our days are beautiful... high 70's, low 80's.. perfect in my opinion. Just for a footnote, the photos where Selina is trying to blow a bubble, that gum flew out of her mouth a few times while she was attempting a bubble. That same gum showed up in her hair later today, and had to be cut out. So no more gum play for her! Lucky that she doesn't care yet what her hair looks like! :)
Have a great one, everybody. I'll post again when something happens!
Caio!

Good morning!
Happy Thursday everyone! One more day to go till the weekend!
Well, things are slowing down a bit here. We dropped the house on Boquest that we had an offer on. The "issues" that came up were more than we wanted to deal with. Starters, the third room and second bathroom were only accessible by walking outside, so it couldn't be used for a child's room or bonus room. The other bedrm (kids) was small, no room for toys and they'd be sharing it. Etc. etc. And then add to that septic issues, electrical, plumbing, roofing, mold, not pretty. Our house is still on the market, though, so we'll see how things go!
Anyway, we have Thurs night gospel meetings now instead of Weds studies, so we're enjoying
that.
Not much else to report on, so I'll just add that we miss you all and think about you often!

Hi ya'll!
I forgot about the pictures from the CA state fair. We went to the fair in late August with Lee's cousins Todd, Heather, Ethan and Ella Humphrey. We had a great time, braved the heat and got outta there by 1:00. We had a fun weekend at the Humphrey's house.. our kids are the same ages (roughly) so they get along great, except when they're fighting. Of course! Three year olds tend to only want what the other one has, and etc. So it was lively to say the least.

WA trip
We are home now after spending a week in Washington. We got the entire first convention at Olympia, and got to see so many old friends! It was really hot there! We couldn't believe how uncomfortable the heat was there compared to here in Cali. It stayed in the high 80's at convention, but it was harder to take than the 90's here at home.
It was extra special to meet Jayda Winfield, baby Derek Pearson, and so many other sweet new babies. Selina's cousins Ille and Mikaela had a good time playing with Selina at convention, leading her around the grounds and taking care of her during meetings. Selina had a hard time saying good bye to Grandma, and the only consolation (that I could think up on the spot) was that she will be going to "school" pretty soon here at home. It distracted her on the car ride home at least. :) If all goes well, Selina will be starting pre-school the first week of October.
Lots of love to everyone.. I will try to update more often in these next couple of weeks!

We have to play in the pool outside every morning now that it's over 100 during the day. Otherwise we swelter, or pay too much for AC. :) There is only about 4 inches of water in this pool, so I can sit nearby without worrying too much.

4th of July
We had a really great 4th of July weekend. We drove the 1 1/2 hours up to Redding and stayed in a hotel. Peyton had a fever and an ear infection, so it was a little stressful, but still a nice weekend. We went to Turtle Bay, an ecological museum that has animals native to the area and studies the environment. (our friends Dallas and Jeannie Carlon gave us free passes). They had a big frog exhibit with all the different types of frogs from around the world, and a big fish room, and (our favorite) a butterfly "house". They just built the Sundial Bridge out there, which I thought was really neat. Then, we went to Sunday meeting at the Grow's in Ono (oh no!) they have a pretty house that looks like a barn from the outside. I saw an old friend there, Alisha Osborne (now Earnest) and her kids. On the 4th, we went to Whiskeytown Lake and swam a bit. The water was perfect, so refreshing yet not too warm. We got to see Dallas and Jeannies' new house in Redding, which is big and airy and beautiful. I was jealous. :)
We had a really fun weekend!
